FAQs

Can I run hybrid inverter without battery?

It can be running without batteries, energy share from utility and solar to loads alternatively.Without batteries, it can help to reduce the whole solar system cost and more importantly it can save electricity fee.It combines a high PV input MPPT controller, it can convert solar energy form PV to loads directly and the same time the remaining solar energy converted to batteries. When PV output is reduces by clouds or at night, resulting in no surplus PV power available, loads powered by utility and batteries is charged, when utility outage, batteries discharged.Off grid solar system running without battery can help to reduce the cost and save electricity fee, energy share from utility and solar to loads alternatively.

How does hybrid inverters work?

Hybrid inverters are advanced inverters that can operate in different modes depending on household power consumption and backup power requirements. Much like regular solar (string) inverters, hybrid inverters convert solar DC power from strings of solar panels to AC power used to power your home. Any excess solar energy is then used to charge a connected battery system. To manage the power flow, hybrid inverters require an external energy meter (often called a CT meter) to measure the household power use and determine when excess power is available to charge the battery. The meter also provides load data so the inverter can discharge the battery to power the household loads when required.

What is a hybrid inverter?

A hybrid inverter is a device that is created by combining a solar inverter and a battery inverter into a single unit. This allows the hybrid solar inverter to intelligently handle power coming from your solar panels, solar batteries, and the electrical grid all at the same time.
